Elon Musk spent more than $276 million in newly disclosed donations to Republican groups since July, making him the biggest known donor of the 2026 midterm election as the party fights to hold its majorities in Washington this November.
The new contributions bring Musk’s known federal political giving for the 2025-26 cycle to roughly $366 million, already surpassing the approximately $290 million he spent during the 2024 presidential election.

Saudi Arabia stopped issuing public warnings of imminent military attacks days before a series of deadly strikes on Riyadh airport that killed at least 18 people and wounded more than 300.
The government has not said why there were no alerts to the public before the four Riyadh attacks in the past week.
The warnings had served to highlight the violence undermining the kingdom's efforts to project an image of calm to its people and the world during its war with Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis.

French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said on Thursday that authorities feared unrest during protests planned for the weekend and the wave of demonstrations to hit France no longer resembles a student movement but "a movement of urban violence."
High school students have for weeks called for better educational conditions and hundreds of demonstrations have been called for Saturday to commemorate the anniversary of the Yellow Vest protests that paralysed the country in 2019.
