このページの使い方
１、まずは原文を読んで、だいたいどのような内容かを推測する
２、単語、表現を参照しながら、もう一度読む
３、日本語訳で確認する
４、最後に原文を音読する
５、日本語訳を読むだけでも、１週間の出来事が分かる
日本語訳は可能な限り前から後ろに訳している。その癖をつけないと、早く読んだり、耳で聞いて理解するようにはならないからだ。話し言葉は前から順に消えていくので、聞き手は前から順に理解している。日本語は結論が後に来ると言われるが、文脈から聞き手は結末を予測しているのだ。
英語では結論が先に来るので、聞き手はその詳細を期待することになる。例えば、何かが最も上がったなどという表現の後には、期間や範囲を限定する表現が続く。その後に理由やその他の詳細が続くのだ。だから英語での討論では「いったい何がいいたいの？」などということはなく、聞き手が話し手を途中で遮って、「あなたの言いたいことは分かるが、、、」と自分の意見を述べることもできるのだ。

During the Apollo 17 mission in 1972 - the last time people walked on the moon - U.S. astronauts Harrison Schmitt and Eugene Cernan collected about 243 pounds (110.4 kg) of soil and rock samples that were returned to Earth for further study.
A half century later, crystals of the mineral zircon inside a coarse-grained igneous rock fragment collected by Schmitt are giving scientists a deeper understanding about the moon's formation and the precise age of Earth's celestial partner.
The moon is about 40 million years older than previously thought - forming more than 4.46 billion years ago, within 110 million years after the solar system's birth, scientists said on Monday, based on analyses of the crystals.

Western defense officials worry that with Israel going to war as the West battles Russia by proxy in Ukraine, there won’t be enough artillery shells and other weapons to keep both allies in the fight.
The issue is concerning NATO planners even though Israel isn’t a member of the alliance and few European countries supply it with military equipment.
But the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and its European members are deeply invested in supporting Ukraine against Russia’s invasion, and the prospect of two hot wars potentially consuming arms and equipment from the same stockpiles or supply chains is starting to worry officials.

The US is sending 300 more troops to the Middle East, the Defense Department said Tuesday. Hamas said it would release a number of foreign captives within days, as fighting escalated inside Gaza.
Dozens were reported killed and wounded at a Gaza refugee camp. Health officials in the Hamas-controlled territory said the Jabaliya camp was hit by a series of Israeli airstrikes. Israel’s military said it targeted Hamas infrastructure in the area and killed a senior leader of the group. It also said two soldiers were killed in fighting in northern Gaza.
